Tax Credit Help Please

My husband was in full time work of 38 hrs per wk until 2 wks ago when the company ceased trading.Total pay to date 15808.69.
He has managed to get a job of 30 hr wk at 12,480 per year.
We are in receipt of Tax Credits of £3.92 per wk at the minute.
What I need to ask can anyone give advice if we will get an increase as Tax Credit ones said they cannot work it out until after April.
No dependent children, Husband over 50 yrs old, entitled to 1 severe disability element on our claim.
Can I also add that Tax Credits are reduced because of overpayment, original form filled in 8 yrs ago when we had 1 dependent child, we mistakenly put my benefit down as income only to be told by CAB that because I had been awarded Incapacity Benefit before Jan 1995 my benefit was exempt from being taken into account.
Even though I have written numerous appeals and each year it states on our award letter they are still making a decision.
Any help anyone can give would be appreciated.
