Hosuing Benefit

Hi,

My brother is getting Job-seekers allowance - due to some emergency he will have to go abroad for around 4 week. He has been told that his JSA will be stopped and so the Hosing Benefit.

He is ok to loose money for JSA but he will have to pay rent and will require Housing Benefit.

Apart from JSA, he is only getting CTC. Is there anything he can do for his HB to continue?

Thanks
MS

  • he will still be eligible for HB and will have to provide proof of his income and capital for the period hes away and we also request proof of the date he left and returned to the country. As long as hes not out of the country for more than 13 weeks he will still get paid

As above, he can still get HB while he is abroad. If he will have no income for this period, he will need to supply bank statements and a letter to confirm he has had no income.
