Homebase emulsion paint

Has anyone used Homebase own brand paint, and if so how did you find it compared to Dulux or Crown? When we decorated DS2's room a year ago, we used Homebase's own, simply because they'd sold out of the Dulux equivalent. Anyway it did a nice job and DH thought it was better than the branded ones. I know a lot of people say cheap paint is a waste of money and my Dad would turn in his grave if he knew we'd painted with other than Dulux...so was it a fluke? I'm painting another room tomorrow and seriously considering Homebase in preference to the big two...has anyone else got an opinion?

I've used the coloured emulsion from Homebase and I found no difference between it and the branded paints.
As far as I can remember Crown make the paint for Homebase anyway.

I always use Homebase 'Flawless' emulsion and find it very good. Seems to go on fine, is washable and takes the odd knock ok.
