not sure if i'm being misled

I have been approached by phone by a company who want £250 up front to see if they can retreive any missold PPI or credit card limit rises along with 10% of any compensation offered. I am suspicious as they want the money up front but asure me it will be returned if there is not compensation to be claimed or I decide not to go ahead. They are called Tucan. Does anyone know of them or can you enlighten me. I don't mind paying for a service but am cautious of anyone wanting money up front??

I would personally keep away from these claims companies, and have a go yourself if you have reasons for being mis sold with the help from this site, more here:

In regards of the above company I think you can check them out with the Ministry of justice (MOJ) here:

At least by having a go yourself and if successful you get to keep all your refund, good luck.

I work for a claims company - NEVER NEVER NEVER pay money up front, there's lots of advice on here for reclaiming yourself, but if you don't feel up to it there's companies who'll do it 'no win - no fee' but don't EVER pay anything up front !!!
