Hi everyone
Been doing loads of research - I need a laptop under £400. i have no gaming requirements, just basic internet and word plus the usual internet tools such as skype etc.
So far I can't seem to find much that has a decent processor on it? I want to stay away from celeron as I have been told to, although I am not sure (given how much more affordable they are) that my needs require more than a basic processor? Was also told to stay away from 2nd hand refurbished...
Is there anything reliable that anyone can recommend? I ahve been on dell's website and also found something on PC world - not sure if its a great deal though http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/product/seo/336586
Any ideas? In all honesty I need one asap unless an amazing deal is coming out in two weeks time.:)

The older Celeron and single core processors were not that good however there's nothing wrong with the newer Celeron Dual Core processors. They perform really well so don't be put off by the Celeron name.
I think this is a bargain at £329 with 3% off via Quidco, add the 6 cell for £5 more.

Has no bluetooth and Webcam but this can be added on if required.
The latest Intel i3 Processors have started to ship in laptops but they are abit more expensive although performance of the 'i' core range of processors is really good.0 -
Thanks Millionaire!
How does that compare to this http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.207-6879.aspx ??
Also if I add (for £40) the Pentium Dual core will that improve things considerably/noticeabley?0 -
P.s. To the one you recommended I can add a Celeron Dual core Intel® Celeron Dual Core T3100 (1.90 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 1 MB L2 Cache) for £40
instead of the Intel® Celeron® Processor 900 (2.20 GHz, 1MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB) that comes with it... Any major difference?0
