stripping gloss paint

What is the best way to strip back gloss paint from a door frame?? I am trying to sort out my home and somewhere down the line the doorway to the kitchen has been glossed but there is runs, bumps of god knows what and a whole seem of dried gloss where it looks like the gloss has pooled between frame and door.
I have no idea how many coats are on it and its only to be glossed again but i want it smooth or smoother.

buy a heat gun. the best DIY tool ever.
(after the hammer).Get some gorm.0 -
the cheapest way to do it is to sand it down. You dont have to take it back to the wood. Sand it with rough sand paper, brush off the dust, do it again and again, finally with a fine sand paper (wet and dry)
Or Nitromors, or a heat gun and scraper.
Or take it to a company who will dip it to remove the paint but it'll cost you.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
