Help - Problems With Our Pilot Light Staying Alight

Hi
We have a Baxi boiler (not combi), the pilot light does light and stay alight for a short period of time, enough to get some pipes hot in the airing cupboard but then goes out.

To give some background, we are decorating so my OH took a radiator off the wall and the fitting that the radiator fixes to started to leak (between the fitting and the downward pipe not the fitting and the radiator), he drained the system to fix it but since re-filling we've had this problem.

Hope someone can help.

Cheers

    Get some gorm.
  • Hi

    Does the system sound noisy?
I would suspect there is an air lock, the boiler heats up to overheat then the pilot drops out.
Try every venting point ,including the pump.

    GSR.

Thank you for your advice, we (well OH) got the pilot light lit again and didn't switch the heating or hot water on but left it for a while. Although OH had vented all the radiators etc earlier, he did it all again and after lots of gurgling we are now warming up.

    Thank you.
