Hi all back in 2002 i purchased an mfi kitchen on hp with black horse finance (slate account) over the years i have (stupidly) added to this. at the time i was told i needed to take ppi to get accepted for finance. last year my hubby was forced to reduce his working hours or face redundancy so we have struggled. i did cancel ppi and have got b.h. to agree to reduced payments. i now realise i could have a claim for mis-sold but after reading here it seems B.H. will simply refuse based on time (although account still active) and argue my complaint lies with who sold the ppi- mfi who, as we all know are no more! any help????

Hi there
I would still go for it and keep at them until you receive the final decision, then if they still do not resolve in your favour ask the financial ombudsman service would they accept investigating this for you.
If they cannot due to BH not being governed from the date you taken this out, then you can always go the insurer direction instead as the insurer would have been governed, and the FOS are looking into making these responsible as well, so its another way round this but rule out BH first and take it from there.
You should find the details of the insurer on your paperwork, if not then request these details from BH, they must supply them to you and as you do when writing to reclaim with BH etc, you do the same thing with these by giving them 8 weeks to respond in full.

Fingers crossed for you and please keep us posted and of course post up for help anytime as well.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"
