BT to Post Office

Hi all

I have been with BT now for almost three years, however, due to numerous problems with their incompetent staff, stupid charges, and downright inability to set up a direct debit properly, I have decided to go to the Post Office £12 a month deal. I understand this is they take over my line totally, and I pay them, however can I just ask a few questions, and hopefuly someone will be able to answer me.

1) Does that mean I now have NOTHING to do with BT?
2) I owe BT money due to problems above, its roughly £80, and it will be paid, however, they sent me a letter teling me that if I didnt pay it, they will docinnect me, ok, not a problem, but the date they gave me for d/c was something like the 28th, but I went live with the post office on the 21st, does this mean that BT cannot d/c my line now?
3) why when it goes to voicemail does it still say wlecome to BT answer 1571?

Thanks all

Wizzy

In effect, BT run Post Office Home Phone for the Post Office.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

No, but if you don't pay they will screw up your credit record, so I wouldn't use non-disconnection as a reason for not paying.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
