Poor you. I had that when i was 13. My sister had it when she was 9 too, and she was so ill as she had tonsilitis at the same time.
Take it easy. It really wipes you out. It could be a while before you are back to full capacity. x0 -
Thanks Michelle.
I have had tonsilitis as well. Its a real effort to go to work at the moment

Thanks Baby Steps.
Doc said it was even before ordering blood tests and not to worry about the results when they come back because it is quite common to give a false negative reading.
Will see what happens next week

I'm surprised you are at work. I still get really tired at times now and i am sure it relates back to it. I was really ill a few years ago before i fell pregnant with DS1. I was tested again for it but not positive. Maybe it was though. Who knows.
Apparently if you have had a few courses of antibiotics in one go that can lead to post viral fatigue which is similar. At one stage they thought i might have ME. I was relieved when they said not, but i honestly had about 6 months where i was completely zapped and couldn't do much at all.
You tend to push through it, but please rest as well. Horrible when you physically are so wiped out but still have so much to do. I'm worried on your behalf.;)0 -
Hi Michelle and thanks for the post.
It is the GP who is adamant that it was I have as she had had it herself. She told me that even if the test comes back negative it doesnt matter as that is what i have and to treat it accordingly?
Although I am still going to work (just) It really is a struggle and I dont think I am doing that good a job whilst I am there. Even the most simple task is an effort. All I need is a stroppy customer and I think that will be enough and they wont see me for a while. I had to have someone with me Sat evening when I cashed up because I couldnt do what I normally take for granted. All my boss said was why do you need help. I asked to go home and she said no. When I told her what the doc said a few days ago, all she said was I have had it and walked off. Cant say I was impressed
Am just sat on the settee now with my feet up and my laptop.
MY throat and tummy are very sore
I have had 10 courses of antibiotics over the last year so my immune system is not great at the moment.
Hope you and your family are well.
Not a very happy MOOCMortgage Free as of 31/5/11 :j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
Just listen to your body then and rest when you can. Easier said than done i know.
Also, GF leaves the spleen swollen so that is probably why your tummy feels tender. Eat well and get lots of feet up time.
I could hold no interest in even watching a telly programme, reading a book or any of my other hobbies at the time. I just could not concentrate.0 -
i had glandular fever years ago, blood tests came back negative, was off work six weeks, and i couldn't even dry myself when i got out of the bath, had to lie on the floor until i was dry, was so tired.0
