Hi All,
Got myself an A4 saloon 2.0 SE diesel '08 plate, 1st of the new type
Just short of 40k now
Had the following replaced upto now
steering rack
Evaporator in air con (at 3rd attempt) mistakenly replaced hoses and condensor (this was 2 wks in dock in total)
Ignition /lock key assembly
ESP sensors (ongoing fault) - switches anti lock/wheelspin off whilst driving (3 attempts)
clicking clutch pedal (2 attempts)
red oil light comes on intermittently even when oil is fully topped up
this week car started whining (more than me :D)
Gearbox is getting stripped down on monday :(

Question is - Is it just me getting a Friday afternoon car or do others have the same problems?
vorsprung durch technik my @rse!

Your comments would be appreciated
Thank you

If you work 70-80 hours a week for the pleasure of Gordon ####ing Brown & Alistair bushy brows Darling stealing tax off you and spend most of your working day in your car, you too could end up spending a lot of time driving loan cars. :(

My last A3 had about £5000 of warranty repairs in 2 years. Steering rack, engine mounts, gearbox mounts, mechatronic unit, plus a few other bits and pieces I've forgotten about!

BTW on the 2.0TDi at 70,000 miles there is the time bomb of the oil cooler drive mechanism failing causing major engine damage.

One of the managers at my husbands company has a new A4 (March 09) he had to borrow the pool car at christmas because the Audi was broken down, don't know off hand what was wrong with it but it was back to main agent.
He who has four and spends five, needs neither purse nor pocket

I've never liked german cars since I had a VW and most of the paint bubbled off.
  • Thank for the replies peeps :D
It's the last german car I ever have!, considering a Honda accord next as they seem to be more british than Fords
