Help working out gas usage

I wanted to work out how much it costs to have my heating on (gas) for one hour.

at 11.32 reading was 3963.35

at 4.32 pm it was 3964.13

Now i know i have used 0000.78 but how much is this and how would i determine how much it costs.... i have british gas??

Any help mucho appreciated

very roughly £3 for 5 hours.

rough guess I would say you have a metric meter.

    so about 60p per hour

Does it say M3 or cuft on the meter?

    Stan
  • it says ft3....................

    thanks for that :)

For an imperial meter you need to multiply the 0.78 by 31* to get the kWh (kilowatt hours). The price per kWh will be on your last bill.

It should be less than a £1 for what you've used there.

Are those readings taken after the house has warmed to a stable temperature?

    *approx.
