    used it too
dont like it so uninstalled it
uses like 16,000 - 20,000k of mem and it doesnt work on the latest google chrome :(
16-20M isn't much these days - Firefox/IE would use 30M a few years ago. Currently my 2 Rapport services are using 56M between them; Firefox 161, MSN 95, Skype 49 - 20M is comparatively slim.

It reminds me of when people refused to install AV software cos it slowed them down.

Minimum specs are here http://www.trusteer.com/supported-platforms - and it lists Chrome > 3.x though if a very new version is out they may have to work with it - that doesn't necessarily mean there's anything wrong with Rapport, just that Google have decided to break away from known standards.

  • If a bank such as HSBC or NATWEST recommend you to download and install Rapport, then you should do it. If you do become subject of any kind of bank online fraud, you wouldn't have to wait long for the bank to say that you refused to take their security advice - I imagine that would make claiming a lot more difficult. I installed it initially when prompted to do so by Natwest and so when HSBC did the same, I was already protected.
I like it because it not only protects me when on line with HSBC and Natwest but also every other institution, including Amazon, EBay etc., in fact any site that accepts a username and password.
I carried out some tests at work (I am in IT) and found that it's a lot deeper and more effective that at first appears. For example, any screen capture program, such as PrtScn or Snagit is unable to capture the window of a protected web page. It also protects you from non-genuine sites, eg., phishing pages with bad links.
I highly recommend it's use, it certainly offers significant protection to my family and it's free. Which is great!
  • Thanks shirtygert - I was beginning to think I was alone in this world!

How come it's taken you 2 years to write your first post?
