Scrapped a car.....

My car broke down in November and, as it wasnt worth getting fixed, asked my friend whi owns his own garage to take it away and get it scrapped. However, I have just realised I still have the V5 document (only parts 9, 10 and 11). My mate said he took it to the scrap yard and got it scrapped and gave them a document that I signed (think it may have been the wrong one though now).

Havent received any corres from DVLA though yet. Its SORN for a year up to July but how should I go about getting this sorted? Dont want a fine and its right mess now, its on my mind all the time. I dont know what scrapyard was used to get a cert of destruction.

I know but what will I say. Its worrying me to be honest, will I get fined for not chasing them up?

What I'm worried about is if the DVLA ask me for the scrapyards proof. I simply havent got it and dont know which scrapyard was used.
