Nope. It's shill-bidding and against eBay rules. Can get you into trouble if you're reported.0

Hello,
I was wondering can I make a bid on one of my own lots to help the price along
You knew it was wrong before you posted, so why ask? It's complete cheating to shill bid and will get your thrown off. It's also quite easy to spot so buyers will start avoiding you. Have you considered that your description/photos might be inadequate hence no bids? Consider also that most auctions don't get bids on until near the end so it might be fine anyway. Don't jeopardise it.0 -
I didn't know if it was allowed thats why I asked.
I understand now I could get thrown off If I do it
I now understand other people will be able to tell ive done it & will not bid on my lots
My Description is clear & easy to understand
My Pictures are Clear & easy to understand
I know sometimes lots don't get many bids untill near the end of the auction
See ive learnt a lot because I asked the questionThis Post Has Been Sponsored ByChocolate0 -

It does happen..people with 2 accounts bid up thier own auctions..but you then take the chance of winning the item yourself and you end up paying selling fees for nothing,so it costs you!
you can see in FB who has won what etc and sometimes see the same buyers buying all 1 persons auctions! hilarious
and yes you will get reported!!TO FINISH LAST, FIRST YOU HAVE TO FINISH....0 -
Never done it as I play by the rules but one way to scam is if you have many friends with legit, non-zero feedback ebay accounts. Each friend is allowed one bid and once that friend has placed a bid on your auction, that friend can never bid on your auctions again.
Although if I was the security developer at ebay I would have thought about this and developed an algorithm to detect this (e.g. circle of friends). Hmm. Risky. Your call.0 -
