Car insurance through comparison sites

Has anyone used USwitch for their car insurance? I am in the process of looking around for car insurance for my son and these are coming up as the cheapest - even cheaper than going to the insurance people themselves. Is there some kind of catch?

USwitch are simply an aggregator for car insurance, you enter your details, they ping them off to the insurers/ brokers and get back a price which they then rank for you. You actually buy the policy from the insurer/ broker and have no futher relation with USwitch (directly) other than a couple of emails before your renewal.
A few of the other aggregators have had small brokers setup to target market groups that their panel were otherwise poor at handling or simply to increase their count of insurers but I don't think USwitch ever haveAll posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

Couple of gotchas
1) They try to come up with cheapest price so automatically exclude things like protected NCD, so you need to check and add this in if you want it.
2) They mis-translate occasions. So for example they may translate a question about "other vehicles" to "other cars" on another website. So you MUST check all info.
3) If you want cashback you must clear any trace of the comparison site otherwise they will get commission and not you. In order of preference you should switch pc, swuicth browser, clear cookies.
but providing you check all details are correct then you should be fine.0
