Friends stayed in them in Glasgow and I never heard any complaints from them, always seemed nice when I visited. Although of course I have never seen Preston so I'm not in a position to comment on that particular place.0

Oh yeah, the reason I can't afford it is that the advertised rate on their site for the exact tenancy I applied for was only a "special offer" rate which is now over. Why is it still advertised at that price then?0

The website isn't working for me either. I searched for the number on bt.com and got these:
Unite Integrated Solutions Student Accom
Foundry Court
Tel: 01772 251393
Brook St, Preston PR1 7EA
Trinity Student Village
Tel: 01772 880145
Great Shaw St, Preston PR1 2HH
Is it one of those locations?0 -

The one in London is a joke - rooms are tiny, kitchens are filthy, overpriced, windows cannot be opened (no ventilation - unite's new policy there - the windows used to open, but now don't cos of 'Health & Safety'..during summer months , it is unbearable)0

I knew a few people in UNITE properties in Plymouth and they had no complaints.
UNITE also managed one of the University of Plymouth's halls of residence and that was a very nice hall as well - we were most jealous of the sofas in their kitchen cos we only got wooden chairs in ours!

I stayed with unite in manchester and had an absolute nightmare. Because they are a company they try to sqeeze every penny from tenants even if is breaking the law. I was living in luxery flats and they were filthy when I moved in and asked for a transfer. Coming to the end of the year all the tenants started to get repair bills mostly over 100pounds for broken items which were already broken when we came in. They are an absolute disgrace! Eventually because I gave them so much grief and went to the newspapers they negotiated my charges down to £20. You may have a better experience in different halls but be aware!0
