Glass storage jar

Hi
I have thought that it would be nice for my daughter to make her teacher a gift this year and have decided that soap and bath salts would be good. i am looking for a jar for the salts, but can't find one.

We used to have a spoils that did this sort of thing, but they are bankrupt. I have tried Home Bargains and Instore, no joy.

I am looking for something like a Le Parfait or with a bali lid or Lock ( Flip tip ) Lid in clear glass ( the type of jar that you would find bath salts in in Boots at Xmas) I can't find qnything at a reasonable price anywhere.

Has anyone any ideas - i have thought of using old Douwe Egberts jars, but they all have a bit of glue where the label was that I can't get off.TIA PAtch

I got nice jars last week in Dunelm Mill - I bought a huge one for £1.80, but they had smaller ones too.

    Hi
I remember reading something about removing sticky stuff with a teeny squirt of WD40? But haven't tried it myself - maybe someone else can advise?

Otherwise "Sticky stuff remover" (I bought from Lakeland years ago! but think is available in sainsburys etc now as well) will do the job too.

If is a blob could try putting in freezer so glue sets hard and can pick it/peel it off?

Just googled and found out vinegar will do the job too!

On the subject of Le Parfait jars - I have some where the lids have crumbled at edge - does anyone happen to know if you can buy replacement lids?

    Cheers

I use an old Douwe Egberts jar to keep cotton wool in, in my bathrrom. I gor the glue off by putting in through the dishwaher. I took it out as soon as it was done and while it was still hot most of the glue picked off. What was left I removed with nail varnish remover and now it looks lovely!

Thanks but no I mean the actual glass lids!
 I am going to try local freecycle - maybe someone has a broken jar with intact lid!

    Cheers

theres some lovely big "sweetshop" style jars in my local bargain shop, you might be lucky.

Failing that we used to use baskets for soaps etc & confetti, shredded paper that might work?
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...

Pound shops often have candles in pretty jars. Perhaps one of those would work? Plus the candle would be an extra present too!

Ikea often has this sort of thing. If you have about three hours to kill and don't mind losing your sanity that is...
