The guy is a FTB and he may just be overly cautious in his approach to viewing and buying property. If she is using an agent to sell, try & find out if he is taking this approach with other properties.

If she is concerned about his approach, she must tell tell the agent & get them to accompany any future viewings. Also, get the agent to ask why he keeps on coming back.

Thanks Jorgan for the sensible reply.I will get her to sort it out with her agent so they accompany him in the furute if any and also to ask whether he is doing this with others.
She just thinks that he is being overcautious and making sure it is right for him as its his first property.

Wants what exactly? Sounds a bit dodgy to me too. As others have said, let the EA know and no more viewings for him.

5 times! That is really strange. We viewed ours once but I think twice is acceptable.

for the biggest ever purchase you are likely to make I'd say have as many viewings as you like. I bet most people have more viewings of their next washing machine whilst they decide than they do house purchases! ;)
  • I always find it odd that people think that wanting to repeatedly view a property strange.

A property is the most expensive investment most people are likely to make. Get it wrong and you pay a very high price.

I have visited all the places I have ever bought more than twice and on one occasion about 5 times. This was not to be a nuisance but merely because something else I had not thought of at the time had cropped up.

I find genuine sellers will understand and as long as an appointment is mutually convenient why should it be regarded as odd or strange?

After all, you are spending THOUSANDS of pounds.

In my view if someone has visted 4+ times before making an offer , imagine what could happen when the survey is done and small things crop up (as they always seem to!). I knew within the first visit if the house interested me and the second visits were more for a more detailed view and asking of questions.

After that everything can be done over the phone or by letter. Maybe a third visit is a good idea around exchange so you can get measurments for curtains / furniture etc

I know each of us is different but you cannot be too certain of yourself or your requirements if you need lots of viewings!
