Hi all
Jesa - hope everything goes well for your dad tomorrow, my probs are just grumbles in the great scheme of things. My Dad had an major op last year and I spent the whole day waiting for the phone to ring, so I know how you feel - (hugs)

Madcatgirl, what line of work are you in? I work for a local authority (boo, hiss I hear from the back!
) and there's nothing at all. Would like something to aim for while I'm stuck there.
I'm thinking about picking my studies back up with the OU. It's just the course fees that we can't afford, otherwise I would do it without a doubt. Will have a re think at the end of the year if we've managed to shift some debt. If you can afford to do it and take the step I'd defo do it
Jesa, hugs again xx0 -
Hi all
Havent been in the challenge for a few months, but would be great to be included again this month, £10 a day please.
Aiming to earn enough to pay for some holiday excursions when me and bf go to Mexico in March.
Been really lucky and worked hard recently, earnt some nice commision and got a PPI refund which has paid for the holiday and shortly a new old car - all without getting into any new debt. I hope 2010 carries on like this, will make up for previous rubbish years.
Have £53 Quidco to add this month, and finally listed my ipod on Ebay!£10 a day 2015 Oct £131.38/£310
Challenge - Save £6,000 in 2015 - £4034.44/£6000
House deposit saving - £4034.44/£20,0000 -
Hi Sweetpea - I'm a town planner, but I work in the private sector, not the public and it's all stressy clients all the time. When I qualified 3 years ago, there was an international shortage of planners and I could have got a visa to go to almost anywhere and work... Now, there is literally nothing, about 2 jobs a week and usually the dullest of the dull!!! I think I would prefer to work in the public sector, but then I'd have to deal with the public all the time! I really want to do a masters in conserving historic buildings - I can just about afford it (it would wipe out all my savings though), but it would probably be worth it!
What are you thinking of studying? You could save up tesco clubcard points for OU you know...March 2016 - £178,914.59; July 2017 £146,160.38
Mortgage end Sept 2043; Target - pay off by March 2022, now Sept 2021
Target balance July 2018 £112,5600 -
Please can I join? Just £5 for now I think would be best!! Not sure quite how I will do it, but Im sure there will be plenty of tips!!:j0

Hi Sweetpeas
Am thinking about doing this challenge, so was reading through and noticed your post. I don't know if this is helpful to you, but if you are doing an undergraduate course with the OU and household earnings are under a certain amount they (and the government) will fully or partially finance your course. I did this a few years ago and also got a surprise when they sent me a cheque to go towards a new laptop :j

Made £70 today on overtime, and made £12 on ebay on a printer cartridge ... need to start finding more items to sell soon! On a positive - I paid the money I made in January off one of my loans today - was a great feeling - its only a bit off a big loan but its the first time i've ever made an overpayment and I'm starting to feel like there is hope of getting out of debt one day!Baby due 4th May 2013
