Route mapping software

Hi all,

I'm trying to plan a route around the UK which a group of us will be doing by motorbike next year.

I'm looking for a website that will let us plan the journey in bits over time, and save the results.

eg. I know a good route around the coast in Devon from Minehead to Bude. Another person knows a good bit up the coast in Wales. What I need to do is to be able to record all these little bits of route on an online map (don't need full directions info) so that we can get all the bits to join up later.

I was hoping to use google earth, but can't find a way to record the routes and save them.
