Will my child tax credits change?

I am a single parent and studying for a degree, I am expecting another child later in the year.
I currently receive around £95 per week child tax credits for my two children - will this go up when the baby arrives or will it stay the same?

They should go up once you've had the baby and informed tax credits.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0

I assume you're not working & paying for childcare and there's nothing else in your circumstances that would have an imapct on benefits such as any disability living allowance in payment?
If there's nothing more complicated about your circumstances then I'd expect you to get an additional £53 per week until your baby is 1 year old, then it will reduce to £42 per week extra. Don't forget to notify Tax Credits on 08453003900 once baby is born.
Plus you'd get additional child benefit of £13.20 per week.
Good luck with your degree!0 -
No I think my circumstances are quite straightforward. I pay for childcare whilst at uni but that is partially covered with a childcare grant (and I don't get anything via tax credits for this and they are aware I am a student). When I have the baby I will defer for a year so wont be working or paying for childcare.
Thank you for that info, it's really helpful. At least I have an idea of what to budget for now!0
