Email Attachment Help

I have attatched things by email before from other computers and off my own have attatched pictures in jpg form etc with no problems.

Thing is i want to send someone a document and it's not letting me do it.
I've tried numerous times testing it on another email address of mine, it will let me attatch it in a 'wps' form? But when i go to open it it says this:

"works cannot open ......... the file maybe in use in another application, the file format may not be supported by any of the installed converters, or the file maybe corrupt"

then it just opens a blank word page??

I've tried changing the form in which i save it but nothing works.

How can i send this document without having to scan it and send it as a jpg which i dont want to do as it won't look as good.

I know it might be really obvious but please help :-)

can you not just copy it into a word document?

Edit: or copy and paste into email.

It is in a word document form that im trying to send and it's something for work that needs to look professional, i just copied and pasted it and don't know if it looks as good as when it's on a word document.

I got sent something the other day off someone and it was a text document but in PDF format is there a way to do it this way? or is copy and pasting in onto my email the only way?
