    Less than 2 x yearly salary, and that is based on just my salary as Mrs Hillcats was not working when I changed over to our existing mortgage provider as I grabbed what I saw as a good deal. (Info below)
    ORIGINAL MORTGAGE AMOUNT £106,454.00 (Started Sept 2007)
    NOV 2021 O/S AMOUNT £1,694.41 OUR DEBT REDUCED BY £104,759.59 by std regular, over-payments & off-setting.
    BofE +0.19% Tracker Repayment Offset Mortgage Discounted Sept 07-10 then increased to BofE +0.62% until 2027

    True - my own first mortgage (aged 26) was 3.25 single salary. With a few payrises, and chucking a bit of spare cash into it, I had it down to twice salary within 2 years.
  • 2.2 here and I'd not want it to be more than that TBH, That's already a stretch (and we don't have other debts to service either, but we do have childcare).
    Mortgage is £1k pcm
