A Ferrari brings you happiness but only children can bring you a certain joy.

I'd rather have the Generalissimos than a Ferrari although both would be best of all.

they are both quite similar really as they can both make you look like a twit

I bet owning a Ferrari would get me laid more easily than having kids would.

    Wrong.

Us men love those single mums. They want less and know it's just a 'shag'.

Is the ferarri going to come round and see you when you are old and lonely? How about make you a cup of tea, have you over for Christmas Day, provide Grandchildren, go to the football/rugby with you, fill you with joy when it says its first word or takes its first step........ ?

Have to agree with this. I wasnt very bothered about having kids up until fairly recently when I really understood the importance of family and having people you love (and who love you) to share your life with.

I feel really sorry for the old lonely types who have nobody visit them.

You can still have a kid and a good looking car.

Depends how much you like the interior though. :)

Our ratio is about 1.75. that doesnt include a family loan though, but they dont want any of that paid back for quite a while (and no interest). If the family loan was brought into the equation the ratio would be about 2.8.

I reckon the majority of mortage/salary ratios are reasonable and would show how affordable houses actually are.

A lot of bears talk about the average house-price/salary ratio for one person and how completely unaffordable prices are but that ratio IMO is pointless and says nothing.

In the real world you need to look at a ratio between the average salary of 2 people and the average mortgage value. Using the house-price in the ratio ignores the amount of wealth out there (for deposits etc), and suggesting all single people should be able to buy an average house seems daft.

In 2008 the average salary of a couple would be pushing £50k, but lets just use £40k. The average mortgage taken out was around £140k. So a 3.5'ish multiple.

I have plenty of nephews and nieces for that.

And I'm fairly sure the possibility of inheriting the Ferrari would be enough incentive to keep us in cups of tea and Xmas invites for life.:rotfl:

Sorry mate, but the thought of having kids makes my skin crawl. Quite happy to provide for myself in old age.
