I just got a renewal quote from my current insurer (who Ive paid about £650 for this year) of £510, currently with fortis via direct choice. I cannot get quote from confused.com anywhere near (places quoting no less than £700) even with 1 year's no claims. Over the phone Ensleigh said they cannot make their quote any lower than the £780 they gave me.
Im 24, need to do 25000 miles a year and after fully comp on a 1.6l astra. Anyone have any tips or insurers I can ring to get a lower quote?

Remember to ring and use online for insurers - some give a flat rate discount for web customers but others have a different rating system all together so may give a significantly different price online as to over the phone and one isnt necessarily cheaper than the otherAll posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

I've found that Tesco are the cheapest for my partners 1.8astra, also 24 (who are also offering 25 pounds free petrol on policies above 250 pounds and 50 pounds petrol on policies costing more tha 500 pounds)
Churchill was the other nearest by a few pence but didn't offer the free petrol incentive!
Confused never came back with quote of less than 650, his current policy with Tesco is 385! with 3 points
