I do not know the status and role of the person I am meant to be emailing although she assures me that once she and her manager have seen all my evidence it will be destroyed. She has told me that they are putting a hold on the legal action while they wait for me to prove that I am ill. I don't trust them at all. Thanks for all your suggestions, I am going to contact Mind. They are very good at the local Law Centre, but also very busy and I know that they will also assist me. Slept a bit better last night, really really appreciate being able to come on this site and get so much support.
BTW, emailing the documents and destroying them at the other end does not destroy them all. For one, there is data recovery software, but more importantly, the image attachments will be stored access several servers as it makes its way from them to you.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
They phoned today and asked me why I hadn't sent them any info, they also said it was standard procudure to request this proof of illnes and when was I planning to send it. They also told me that a charging order was "nothing to worry about" !!!!0

Hi
A charging order is definitely something to worry about. It is converting unsecured debt into something that could lose you your home.
You have received good advice so far. Get help from CAB, debt charity, mental health charity. Although they do need proof you are ill, they can get it officially, directly, in writing from a health professional.
Their attitude is appalling and constitutes harassment so I would also looking into a complaint to OFT/Financial Ombudsman as suggested earlier.
Only communicate in writing. Two main reasons for this:-
1. You don't have to worry about phone calls.
2. Evidence - if they do get this to a 'charging order' stage, it will have to go to court and you can prove you have done all you can, and that they were being unreasonable.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0
