Hi
I really hope someone can help point me in the right direction.
I've decided to start up a little business doing mobile beauty therapy (very part time due to having another job and young baby)
Now I'm going to start with family and friends and hopefully use them as an 'advert' but I know that I need to do some business cards too. I want a logo thats going to stick in peoples heads and be very pretty/delicate.
Anyone know of anywhere that I can look for inspiration for this logo?
TIA

Digital point forums in the services forum, its a geek tavern. You can get anything geeky you want there. You can get a professional original standard logo done for $10 (its all done in dollars really).
Very quick and easy.0 -
I had my logo done by Printing.com and used them for my business cards too. There are lots of graphic designers in the UK that will design a logo for you...don't go paying dollars when you can perhaps get cheaper in the UK.
I have a heart logo on the front of my cards with the business name in script and on the reverse I have a picture that I chose from istockphoto.com - printing.com got this for me for a reasonable price - I use the same photo as my logo on my website.0 -
Its digital information, dollars is the international currency. It doesn't mean its done by Americans.
Its an international market place, which would result in the lowest possible prices.0 -
Yeah, you will be unlikely to find any american or british designers willing to work for that kind of money!
There are two problems with DP.
The 1st is ethical - 90% of the design work is done via competisions, where the 'best' entry wins. If you pay $10 to the winner and get say 20 entries from different people, that could be a total of 10hrs worth of work, so about 60p an hour! Makes you feel all warm and fussy doesnt it!
The 2nd is the quality of the final product. I am not syaing that there are no talented designers on DP, there are (as well as many many awful ones), but the nature of the setup means the designers have NO say in the design, they just do what customers ask.
Might sound great but alot of people have terrible judgment when it comes to branding, just browse DP and look at the winning entries, or contemplate the success of Vistaprint business cards!0 -
Two points, with all design competitions you get what you pay for. Very few good designers will do spec work, so quality of work will be average to low and in some cases plagerised. http://www.thelogofactory.com/logo_blog/index.php/anti-spec-work-parable/
Secondly, when buying stock images, make sure you buy the correct license, the cheaper licenses don't always allow for derivitive works or for the image to be used in a logo.
But if you want a quick and cheap logo to save the pennies, then design competitions are the way to go.Beer meter E[.\.......]F0
