If you do not have a phone and TV, but want internet and phone in one package. I am getting a bit confused as many seem to include a TV (was looking at virgin, but don't want a TV)
thank you

You can take just internet and phone from Virgin, have a look here:
http://allyours.virginmedia.com/websales/product.do?id=3264
Works out to be £23.50 per month for 10MB Broadband and Talk Weekends phone.0 -
Thanks but I was looking for free evenings and weekends.
Any more ideas please?
much appreciated.0 -
Virgin Media is probably the most expensive voice telephony calls provider in the country.
In any case, you need to establish first whether you are in a VM cabled area or whether you would need to receive their services via standard copper wires (i.e. via what most people still call the GPO/BT network).
If the latter, there are numerous 'line providers' but some restrict the ADSL broadband they will carry to their own. That is particularly the case with providers which have unbundled (LLU'd) your local exchange (refer to http://samknows.com/broadband/search.php to check).
You would have the widest choice of ADSL broadband providers (and telephone calls providers via the CPS [Carrier PreSelect] procedures) if you had a standard BT line.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
