Hi All,
Bit of a long story sorry - I bought a laptop from Littlewoods (silly I know) The screen broke (wouldnt switch on) so I sent it back and they swapped it.... couple of months later, same problem again...... they sent it back with a smashed screen.... so eventually after recorder delivery letters etc, they sent me a new one... and guess what...... smae problem with the screen and the power cut out one day and never switched on again. I contacted them yet again, and after another battle, they agreed to pick it up. I got it all back in its box etc but unfortunatly, myhusband got called into work an missed the collection. A couple of months later (literally, the first opportunity I had) I called them and they said as its no longer in warrenty, there is nothing that can be done, even though when I originally reported the fault it was in warrenty. They also, re-added another laptop to my bill and charged me interest on that. I have sent a couple of letters with no answer, but havent paid (I know this is not the correct thing to do!) so charge upon charge have been added. It has now been passed onto the Lowell group for payment of around £900.
I have set up a payment plan for this otherwise it will just get worse.
I would like some sort of resolution from Littlewoods as the laptop is still sat boxed up in my kitchen, in the same place as it was in October 2008!! I have since been out and bought myself a new laptop (and had no problems with it)
Please can anyone tell me if I have any rights with this??
Thanks in advance

mmmmmmmA couple of months later(literally, the first opportunity I had)
Oh please, what Absolute nonsense. I think you need to realise what home shopping is about, its pro's and con's.I have sent a couple of letters with no answer,
Have you got proof of postage?
Why didnt you telephone them?
This is YOUR fault, not theres. The onus was on you, to ensure the item was collected and the refund was put on your account, thats why they send statements out.
Personally, in my opinion, its tought ti77ies, and you should pay up.0 -

I am aware of that - and I am not asking you to decipher if my story is true or not - I am asking for an opinion
Have you got proof of postage?
No - not any more
Why didnt you telephone them?
I did phone them but just got sarcasm and tough sh*t attitude, hence the reason the letters were posted

I am not saying I am right in not making the payments, even though I tried on many occasions to set up a direct debit for the same time every month so payment could be made.

I am not arguing the fact that I shouldnt be paying - hence the reason, I have started doing.0 -
Do you have evidence that you told them within the warranty period of the issue?
Even if it is out of warranty, you may well have rights under SOGA. However, you are liable to pay for the item.0 -

Mark- That's a bit harsh, i don't know what times the lines are open but it's usually during office hours so if the OP is working during those hours then she will struggle to call.0

Lines are open 7am to 11pm according to their website.
So she was so busy 7am until 11pm every day, including weekends, she couldn't make a 10 minute phone call?0 -

10 minutes? Everytime I did call them I was on at least half an hour, my other half works long hours, I work full time leaving the house at around 7:30 after getting myself and my child ready who spent the first 2/3 years of his life being sick every night from being out to bed. Not that I need to explain this to you.
As I said earlier, I am not here to be judged on how long it took me to ring, how many times I rang or what I was wearing when I ordered the laptop, I am just asking advice on my current situation. There is absolutley no need to be rude.
Thank you to the poeple who have ofered genuine assitance with this0 -
You still have to take into account that any company would think waiting 2 months to get in touch is completely unreasonable.0
