I have a friend who works for Next at their main offices, and they are looking at ways of clamping down on 'misuse' of their system. Of course, what they classify as an abuse of the system, we MSE'ers generally classify it as a loophole to be taken advantage of - it's all in the translation! :rotfl:

As far as I am aware, there is no way to register for VIP access without being invited - they clamped down on this last year. If you don't get an e-mail invite, you won't be able to register online for a VIP timeslot. There's always the telephone invites to wait for too, but I gather the line they are taking is that it's down to them to invite you, and they won't be allowing people to invite themselves, as it were.

I haven't spoken to my friend for a couple of weeks, but I'll try and get more info from her this week. I know she said that they were looking at not putting the sale codes live until the actual date of the sale, unless you went via the VIP login, but thinking and doing are two different things ;) I'll post here as soon as I have any further info.

Not sure if this is any help to anyone but thought i would post it just in case.

This is the link for the last VIP mid season sale. They used exactly the same link for the VIP christmas sale so they may use this for the coming next sale. Just a thought.

    Hope this helps

I'm sure i never got a VIP Email invite last time but i still used the link to register for a VIP slot and was given a timeslot.

Shannon, to the best of my knowledge, you wouldn't have been able to register online for a timeslot unless your account number was on the VIP list. Some people managed to register last time before receiving their e-mail invite, but that was because their accounts were actually on the VIP list.

Also, for what it's worth, Next specifically ask in their VIP invites that you do not share the link with anyone else, so it might be best if you removed it from your above post, otherwise MSE could get into trouble with Next. Sorry to be a killjoy.

Just thought I would post, as the last twice that there has been a Next sale preview, I have not been invited. However I called up and said I was unable to get the link to work and they just registered me over the telephone.

So just because you don't get an invite don't give up!

Board guides, please delete my post (which contains the link) if the link is against MSE rules. However, having just done a quick search i found this and it wasn't removed

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=125646&pp=10

and if i remember rightly, i did choose a slot on the VIP website and they then sent me an email to confirm my slot (both at christmas time and easter time) and each time i never received an e-mail invite.

Sometimes, i really dont think its worth contributing to any of the posts!!!! Seems more trouble than its worth. Much more easier to just read them!!!! I can understand why some people are afraid to post on theses forums in case someone jumps down there throat.

Shannon, I was merely trying to to be helpful in pointing out that Next are changing their system and their policies with regards to VIP invites. I'm not saying it's against MSE rules to post the link, it's just that I am aware that some companies (La Redoute being a case in point) take umbrage at codes, links, etc, being posted on here when they are intended for specific people only.

I am just trying to look out for MSE as a whole, and certainly was not jumping down your throat. If I have offended you in any way, then you have my sincerest apologies.

As I previously mentioned, once I have further details regarding the sale, VIP invites, etc, from my friend I intend to post them on here to help others if I can :)
