Once again....your thought process is non existent.
I am happy for people GENUINELY DESERVING benefits. If you own a house, or have equity in that house, then you ARE NOT deserving as you can pay for things yourself out of your own finances.
Why are you struggling to grasp this as it is very straight-forward.

Which is precisely what you are trying to find a way of doing.

So by your logic, if anyone on benefits has a windfall, they should keep it all AND their benefits so they can invest it and not be a burden on the taxpayer at a later date?
    Jesus...what planet are you from.

What you should be doing (and hopefully have to), is sell the equity you own so you can support yourself.

Get some self respect! (and try using English instead of that bloody text speak).

Anyone can claim IB and have as much money as they want, the OP is going to sell one house to buy there own home and keep the second house and get the rental income, all legal and above board.

If you pay your NIs you can claim contributions based benefits and your warped reasoning dosnt come into it, keep your bile for the people who come here and ask for help to commit fraud and not soemone who has come for help in a complicated matter.

But if you sold the 33% share house you could use the cash to buy the other person out of the house where you own 50% and live there.

You don't sound too happy with the fact that you have come in to quite a bit of money and will now be in a position to support yourself.

That's a bit unfair. A share in a house is actually useless as capital as it's very difficult to sell a share in a house if the other party can't afford to buy you out. Why should they, how would it benefit them to do so? Not only that, the share in the house obliges you to pay a share of council tax and any bills and any maintenance or repairs on the house. You will have an asset that costs you money and can't generate an income or earn interest.

I'm faced with a possibilty of my OH inheriting 1/4 of a house and we're not thrilled at the prospect given that a relative, living on IB and unable to pay for repairs etc, will be living in the house so selling it is out of the question as this would put him on the street.

But a 1/4 share of a house means a 1/4 share of the rent!
