BreakDown Advice
I'm looking at joining either the AA or RAC.
It's probably common knowledge but with basic cover, what would a patrol do if you brokedown middle of the night, a couldn't fix on roadside.
Generally they say they'll tow you to a local garage, but obviously being shut at that time of night, would they just leave you on the raodside?

I am with Autoaid and I got towed home and had to ring them the next day to get towed to a garage.0

yes I am about to join the AA too. I was told their basic cover at £28 only tows you ten miles? Is that right?0

Basic cover is just that - they'll try and fix it, probably give you a short trip on a wagon, but anything else and you have to pay.
We've also just gone to Autoaid - £37 a year for full insurance cover for me and my wife in any car we are driving.
If you want cheap cover why skimp to get basic AA cover when full cover using an insurance policy is available for very little more?0 -
