On your renewal you will get a price match guarantee. My renewal was £365 so I tried it out looking at price comparison sites. Cheapest was from Barclays bank quoting me £170 for same cover. This was a massiive saving of £195 which Saga has now honoured. Fantastic

I have just helped my mother with her buildings and contents renewal.
Saga wanted over £300 and I found the same cover (actually more cover as it includes "home emergency") with the CoOp for under £200. She rang Saga and said she'd got a lower quote and got the usual 'is it for the same cover' and then was asked if it was the same excess on both buildings and contents. As the answer to both these questions was 'yes' the operator said they couldn't match it!!0 -

I had a similar situation with Saga motor insurance last August. Their price matching guarantee proved to be worthless.
