Quorn fillet sauces?

No problem! I can't vouch for what it tastes like, because although I haven't eaten meat for over 30 years, I do eat fish, so I just use the normal worcestershire sauce, but I've seen it in Holland & Barrett and I'm pretty sure Tesco sells one as well. My DD is vegetarian and I vary hers by doing it as a roast with gravy or cover it in sweet chilli sauce , peri peri sauce, BBQ sauce or do a topping with garlic butter and breadcrumbs ( like an inside out kiev really)

Ooh the garlic butter and breadcrumbs idea sounds good! Thanks for that. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

I fry them off, throw in some peppers slice them up and pour a jar of Kung Po sauce and have it with noodles it`s really tasty.0

So, just to be clear, you can COOK them without a sauce? It was that which worried me a bit - the idea of having to pour the sauce over before you cooked while it's still frozen which is what it semed to imply on the packet. I was worried about putting a freshly-cooked, hot sauce on a frozen...thing.
Does anyone ever defrost them first? I'm wondering if they can be treated more-or-less like a chicken breast?
Could you give me an idiot's guide to the kiev idea at all, butterfly brain? That sounds really nice.0 -
You can cook them with or without a sauce, you can bake or fry them.
Use them from frozen.
Butterfly's Inside Out Kiev
get some garlic butter and breadcumbs mix them together till you get a spreadable consistency and spread over the frozen quorn fillets.
Bake in the oven for 15 - 20 mins.
Works on chicken too

Yes. My daughter used to have a Quorn wrap for her lunch every day. I used to gently fry one from frozen in olive oil for about 3 minutes a side to make sure it was heated through. It also made the fillet a little tastier with slightly crispy bits.
Shredded lettuce, grated carrot, sliced cooled fried Quorn fillet with a squeeze of lemon juice all wrapped in a whole-wheat tortilla. Yum.
Now all she wants is a 'cheese sammich'!

Thanks, BB and Penny Watcher, both those ideas sound absolutely yum.
I am not in favour of these "convenience food" type things ALL the time - we always have at least two non-meat meals for the whole family per week - but when you're having to make something different just for one of you then it can be nice just to have something really easy to grab out of the freezer!0 -
My partner, who has eaten 100s of these things, is standing right behind me and says you can use them in any recipe that you'd normally use chicken breasts for. He also takes them grilled for packed lunch with a big salad and in sandwiches.2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
