Zafira warranty and emissions
I have a zafira on a 57 plate and my emissions warning light has come on. Ive checked the manual and its definitely emissions and it isnt flashing so its not the cat. What I want to know and cant figure out with the warranty is if this is something that is covered under the manufacturers warranty or something thats going to cost me.
Any advice is appreciated so thanks in advance.

Sounds to me like it should be covered - certainly worth getting in touch with Vauxhall if you're not sure.0

If it's a lambda sensor it will probably be covered, if it's wiring related or leaking exhaust then probably not.0

Common for a Vauxhall. I have it about once a year on my Zafira. Sometimes it clears itself, other times the dealer resets it.The man without a signature.0

If its diesel it'll be glow plugs, if its petrol it'll be EGR valve probably.0

Its diesel. Thanks for the help, ive got it booked in with Vauxhall. Hopefully its something that can be resolved under warranty.0

Yeah best to get it checked out at the dealership while it's still under warranty. Let us know what they find0

Its the EGR valve or something and its covered under warranty so its going back next week to get fixed but its fine to drive.
Thanks again.0 -
EGR valve simply recirculates a percentage of your exhaust gasses back into the engine. Its an emissions-lowering feature and works quite well. The downside is that exhaust gasses are sooty and oily, and things tend to get a little bit bunged up.0

I so hate this car! I have a vauxhall zafira 02 plate.
Exhaust Emissions light! Been like this for 2 years and no-one can find the problem. Not even a Vauxhall dealership.
EGR Value, coil pack and sensor boxes all replaced.
No problem shows up when they do a reading on the car.
Conks out all the time and has no pulling power.
I'm stuck with this heap oh !!!!!, can't trade it in and can't sell it :mad:0 -

I've been quite lucky ... had the car Y 2001 1.8 petrol since nearly new ... EGR valve went ... got it replaced by family mechanic. AVG 32 - 35 mpg ... and I do the brim to brim test fairly regularly. 96k on the clock. Really want to get an oil burner but can't see a reason as this ones a really good runner. But there are so many stories out there of poor examples. Besides, I'll not get much money for mine. Sometimes I wish something expensive would go wrong and try and trade it in "swappage" or something.
Anyway I'll keep running it into the ground for the moment .... oh dear .. looks like I'm facing a service soon as well as timing belt change ... looks like I'll have to keep it at least another year ! ... !!!!!! front near side tyre wants changing too ... bloody roundabouts !0
