18185 payment problems

Has anyone else had problems with payment for 18185? I had registered a credit card which they had used several times for payments successfully, and then the email account notifications suddenly stopped. Just got an email saying my bank had refused payment and they were sending bailiffs to collect -- problem is that it's THEIR fault for failing to collect as card still valid and amount paid off every month. But cant find any way to contact them to tell them this as they have neither a phone nor an email address. Anyone else found a way to contact them?

They can't 'send the bailiffs' without a Court order so that's a bluff.

Martin has been warning against the use of continuous payment authority on credit and debit cards since 2004 although, in this case, it doesn't sound as though it would have made any difference if you'd used Direct debit - Connect Telecom would still have messed up the call for money.

In the past, I have been successful in sorting out such a problem for my step-daughter and it may be that the details I used will allow you to do the same. Please see HERE.

As they've failed to collect on the credit card though, you'll then need to change your payment method. I'd recommend Direct Debit.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
  • Hope that has worked -- many thanks for the help!!
