Laptop died after 15 Months - What can I do?

You could buy a Dell laptop for around £450 with a 17" screen.

It may not absolve the retailer of their actions but it could be an easy solution if they offer a payoff.0 -
Yes, but if the 'partial refund' isn't enough to buy an equivelant spec machine, then I will end up with a lower spec machine.
They will take into account the 15 months you have had the laptop for. The difference between what you paid and what they offer will be the amount you actually paid to have the Sony laptop for that time. You could either take a lower spec machine, a different model at the same spec or put some money towards a similar machine. Be happy as well, a couple of years ago before people got their head around SOGA you would have got nothing at all. Happy shopping (I hope).0
