NatWest Bank charge

Hi,

Could anyone give some advice please ??

I've logged onto my bank account today and found out that NatWest have charged me £20. I haven't received any letter informing me that any charges were going to applied to my bank account and far as I know I didn't go over drawn at all.

I telephoned up the bank today and was told that by their records I was over drawn in December 09 but I should have had a letter informing me of the charge that was going to applied for being over drawn by (wait for it) £3 !!

I repeated it back to him "£20 charge for being over drawn by £3 ??" He replied to me stating it was a flat fee for being over drawn.

Is there anything I can do about this charge as I never received any letter like I normally do for charges that are going to be applied ??

Cheers for any advice.

  • Is your statements set to paperless?

My account is set to paperless but I still get the charges sent via the post.

Far as I remember this is my 2nd charge, the first one got taken off.
  • If it is set to paperless then it should appear on your online banking and no statements advising charges should be sent snail mail.
