credit note

I have just found a credit note from toys r us in my purse. Unfortunatly it was only valid for a year and expired in november. I was wondering if there is anything i can do as the money is rightly mine and i cant afford to jus let this go. Many thanks, pinklynz.

  • Unfortuately there's nothing you can do other than appeal to the better nature. It's highly unlikely you'll get another credit note.

It's like finding a tin of beans in your cupboard which are out of date and asking the supermarket to replace them because you haven't used them in time. (I know there's a price difference there, but it's the principle!)

Have you asked them to extend it? I would think that a goodwill gesture is about all you'll get unless the expiry date wasn't on the credit note.

You could afford to forget all about it though whilst is was lost in your purse.

Your telling us you had not opened your purse in over a year? I find that impossible to believe for a woman.

Not really, considering all the rest of the rubbish they keep in those things. I take it you've never stood behind a women in the supermarket queue as they spend ages rifling through their purse too find the right card. ;)

    They're not purses, just mini-skips

Go in the shop, ask, sweetly to see the manager, smile sweetly and ask him nicely, telling him you would appreciate it if you could spend the voucher...and if he does let you thank him very sincerely. And get something STRAIGHT AWAY

(I KNOW the manager might be a lady - but if she is she'll no doubt be hauling a VERY heavy, overstuffed handbag around and be too busy to see you;))

and boys...thanks for the laughs! Skip - hah!

  • Just ask!

I recently found an expired £10 Molten Brown gift voucher in an old purse I didn't use anymore. It was 6months out of date. I politely emailed (there is no store where I live) explaining this and they sent me an email back allowing the voucher to be used by the end of March this year :)
