The bottom of the subframe to one of my sash windows is rotten. Is it possible to repair or will the whole thing have to be replaced?

Every part of a sash window is repairable/replaceable. It will come down to the cost of repair v cost of replacement then how much you value keeping original windows.
Repair and restoration of sash windows is popular at the moment. A Google search with provide plenty of companies advertising. But if you can, get a price from a local joiner as well.

I think you are talking about your sill section being rotten. If this is the case you will need to find yourself a local odd job chippy as the cost should be no where near replacement. I would'nt be able to help you with a job so small myself but if you are struggling I will point you in the right direction. The last thing you want to do is replace just one window in your house - aside from anything it will look odd.0
