cat with dislocated sternum ?

i wondered if anyone on here has had a cat with a dislocated sternum? i wanted to know what is done to put it right(surgery etc?)

Never heard of this before :S Any idea how it happened? You can't really dislocate a sternum as its not a joint-you can get a compressed sternum when it gets forced inwards from blunt force trauma.0

its pushing out....wondered what the hell it was when i picked him up...kind of self diagnosed him from the inetrnet before i took him to vets. i managed to google an xray. i have been told to leave him for the time being as he is eating and everything else normally. if need be he can have an op at a later date....spanky xx

Is it new? Some cats and dogs are !!!!!! with weirdly pointing ribs and sternums? Would usually leave them alone as they dont cause many probs.0

no, i have had him from birth..... hes about 18 months old.. i think either he fell funny or was kicked, im not sure which.......he seems to be happy now after having a sleep in my wardrobe!
