They have a deal on at the mo - couple of pounds off each package.
I was thinking of giving them a go as it's only a 1 month rolling contract. I haven't been on usenet for years!
Has anyone used them - are they any good?

Hi
I haven't used Simply Usenet, but please may I ask you a question?
My ISP (Virgin Media) allows me access to newsgroups, what's the difference between that and a 'Premium' account such as Simply Usenet?Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.0 -

There are also other things a premium provider may provide like SSL encryption and guarantees that they will not keep records of any downloads - these are more for people who want to download things of questionable content.
My isp doesn't do usenet, but I can get a £2.99/month package with Simply. Think I might give it a go, only 3 pounds to lose.0 -
Virgin have two servers on their farm, text & binary
- news.virginmedia.com
- the binaries used to be good, but no longer, *.pdf binaries are still good the rest are rubbish since they moved the farm from North America to Holland.
- private farms will give 8 connections
- Astraweb used to be very good, you paid £x for a download quantity not a time period, whan you maxed out your pay-up-front money their server blocked you, this was a good thing because you controlled your credit card - not them !
- Claims on rentention are usually dreams, the headers may be 200 days old and still there, but the files the nzb links to are often missing.
- if Simply are a £iver a month give it a shot - make sure your credit card isn't tied to continue paying after the first month !Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
