Dipping/Stripping Wooden Furniture

I have an Indian Thakat coffee table that is about 10 years old, the wax has rubbed off and it is looking pretty worn. I would like to buy something similar (solid wood) but a lighter colour (more mexican pine colour). Before I buy new I wondered whether I could have our original one dipped/stripped - does anyone know whether this darker wood Thakat furniture is actually lighter underneath? many thanks

all depends. they tend to use 3 or 4 woods.
if its rubber wood forget it. its a very cheap wood and not very durable.
is the table a lighter color underneath?
then it depends if its been wax/painted or stained. if the stain is ingrained, theres probably no chance of lightening it up.
maybe best to stain/wax it back to the original color.Get some gorm.0
