Cleaning!
I will be the 1st to admit that me (aged 25) and gorgeous OH ( aged 34) are lazy! We live like students and leave the washing up till i am having to make a cup of coffee using a fork.
We both have good jobs and are clean, we just let things pile up until we have yo have a mad dash around the house when we have people over.
It has now got to the stage were i have had to take the day of work today just to get the house ready for friends staying over this weekend.
I know what a really need is a kick up the backside, but there is always something more interesting to do be that reading, watching TV or even sleeping.
We don't have any children so theres no worry there. Like right now i have the whole day to get this place in to shape, our house is not very big a 2 up 2 down end terrace with a small kitchen but all i want to do is jump in the bath, soak for about an hour and then go and read my book. But i can't!!!

Try the flylady thread
At the very least, the lists will give you an idea of what you need to do today and how to plan in future!0 -

Oh, I'm with you there sister! Bone idle doesn't even begin to describe me. It's just the 2 of us and a cat (and some chickens, but I can't blame them for getting inside the house a mess) and I too would rather do anything else, and frequently do.
But I do recommend the flylady thread, or even the flylady website on which it is based. It's American, so bear that in mind.
Basically, 15 mins at a time. OK so today's a bit different, but set a timer for 15 mins and do something (only you know the priorities), then set it again and do something else. The set it for another 15 mins and do something else.
Then for 15 mins, sit down and have a cuppa. Then do it again.
In future, try and get some routines going and just a little bit each day really makes a difference. I know, I know - you still have to get up and do something, but it's not panic-inducing all day crisis cleaning.
Housework now - check out flylady stuff later.
You're green button is still on - you're procrastinating aren't you.....0 -
Good luck
I understand where you're coming from

When I do need to tidy up, I have to shut the lappy down & turn the telly off. I get distracted if I don't:rotfl:0

Yup, Flylady is the way to go!x-cupcake-x wrote: »When I do need to tidy up, I have to shut the lappy down & turn the telly off. I get distracted if I don't:rotfl:
That's what I do. It's far too easy to say to yourself that you'll just check your mail, then realise that an hour or two has passed and you're still at the computer!
Before christmas, with everything that needed to be done, I didn't switch my pc on for 3 weeks! When I wanted a break, I read a book or a magazine instead. The only problem with doing that, was that when I did come back online, I had sooo much email to go through! :rotfl:0 -

Well Kitchen is done, cooker, worktops and the floor!! That was a sight for sore eyes, me on my hands a knees scrubbing! OH won't believe it. Next up middle room and front room. Then a small break for dinner! I will use the flylady thread once the place is at a normal state (for me anyway, it's never going to look like the rooms of well living magazine).LBM = 28/1/10 Total Debt = £3500
