Another type of weather payment

Spoke to a social worker yesterday who wanted to make sure i was getting my cold weather payments.

I told her i had received all that i was entitled to.

She told me there was another for extreme cold weather... not entirely clear on what she said, but it was almost like she was making out there was another payment that wasn't advertised, you had to ask for etc... I hope she isn't thinking of the one for the over 60's.

Has she got this right? (i am not over 60 - just disabled on the right benefits for my needs) or is she talking gibberish.

She is talking gibberish, there mere fact that it's not advertised should tell you something

I'm not sure on this one, but I used to work for the DHSS (many years ago) and in my experience social workers are always talking a load of rubbish about benefits and cause no end of trouble. If you want information on DWP benefits ask the DWP not a social worker.
