Cheap, temporary, automatic car

I want an cheap automatic car, budget £1000, bit more if pushed. Plan is to keep it for 3 maybe 4 months and sell it. Don't give a damn what brand it is (£1000, i won't have much choice!!!!) and if the insurance could kept under group 10 that would be helpful.Done a bit of research about Fords, Hyundai's, Fiats in my rough price range, that seem to indicate you couldn't go to the shops with any certainty. At the moment am thinking of a Corsa, they seem to have the least amount off horror stories. Unless you know better!!!! Will consider anything that will get me thru a few months and sell on with out taking to much of a loss. Your input would be received with thanks.

What you want is to read the thread 'selling a car....where/how to advertise' posted by Beks. They're trying to sell a metro auto that belonged to a family member, could be just the thing.
