Private Car Leasing
Comments

I have no experience but i know several people who lease (one 10+ years) and have not a bad thing to say about it.
I was all set to lease a new scirocco. Passed the Finance no probs and was waiting for the car to get built then all of a sudden there was a problem with the lease company cancelling a lot of orders (never found out why) so after 2months waiting i had to go elsewhere and just went to a dealership for a golf.0 -
What are you confused about?
There are 2 types of personal car leasing, personal contract hire and personal contract purchase.
Personal Contract Hire you just hire the car long term (2-5years normally)
Personal Contract Purchase you hire the vehicle just the same but with the option of purchase at the end for a set figure.
Advantages of leasing are ease of keeping a new vehicle, if you just going to hire a car for 3 years each time it saves having to go through the process of buying and selling a vehicle and it means your always in manufacturers warranty.
Its good if you replace your vehicle regular or want fixed costs as you can also have maintainace included so no servicing costs or unexpected repair bils ect.
If you have any further questions contact http://www.lease-hire.co.uk I have contract hire cars for work with these before and they are really helpful if you have any questions.0 -
Go for the deal not the car. Don't decide you want a mini but decide you want a mini sized car then look for the best deal.
If you do high mileage it will probably be more expensive.
As far as i can see there are just not the sort of deals available now compared with a year or two ago.
My lease car goes back tomorrow and I have decided to give it a miss this time round. Moment of MSE madness
Also be careful some of these brokers are having a hard time and might be going out of business (flexxilease apparently) so ensure any deposits are going direct to the finance company and not via the broker.
Get everything in writing (VED for duration of lease etc).
I have been a huge fan of leasing over the past 3 years but I would just be slightly careful just now.
PM me if you want me to look at anything in particular.0 -
This is the first site I always look at
http://www.contracthireandleasing.com/
By the way Volvo XC90's are cracking deals at the moment (new model due soon) if that is the sort of thing you are looking for.0 -
Both these sites were ones I'd already looked at, there's just so much info to take in. Are credit checks a requirement as my credit score rubbish!! Which is why my sis suggested leasing rather than finance.0

Leasing IS Financing.0

Yeah credit checks will be needed as you are having a car on a finance deal still.0
