Credit card refund. How long?

Please can anyone tell me how long it takes for money to be refunded to a credit card?
In brief, a company overcharged us by several hundred pounds. We noticed and got on to them. After several phone calls they said they had refunded the money. We can't see it yet on our online statement. I wonder how long it takes to show up.
I'm still a little suspicious that they might not have done anything.

If it helps, Paypal refunded a transaction to my account on Saturday. It was showing as refunded today. So 3 working days.0

Usually it will take you 3 to 5 business days to get a refund.Mr. Mulla0 -

Just in case it helps anyone, the refund was made to our account on a Friday and showed up when we checked online the following Tuesday early morning.0
