Serviced apartments are ideal for familes, as you pay around the same price as a hotel, but get a full apartment. I have found a discount code on Twitter for The Spires who have apartments in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Birmingham. The code gives 10% discount off their best available rate on all dates (as long as they have availability). Go to The Spires website (you'll find it in google), then go to make a booking. Enter Twitter10 into the access code box (need to click on the + sign beside it once you have past the fast reservation section on the home page), then you will get the 10% discount.
I have stayed, and they are in great locations, with nice modern apartments. Had 2 small kids with us, who loved the space.
